Learn Engineering Documentation ManagementWhitaker Brothers is a growing company with 70+ employees. We are involved in supplying and servicing equipment for secure destruction of confidential documents and repair of paper handling equipment. We are looking for unpaid interns who can contribute their energy, ideas, and diligent efforts. Our interns will have the opportunity to become knowledgeable in engineering business operations as well as gaining essential business management skills such as Engineering Documentation, Design, and Customer Service. Students can expect a nurturing learning experience as well as a fun and friendly work environment. Public transportation is available, Rockville metro stop on the Red Line. Schedule is flexible and will be negotiated. Please respomd only if you are local to our location, Washington DC Metro area.
Responsibilities
Engineering Document ManagementIntern will have the opportunity to learn and use computer-based layout software to document current part and assembly designs, create and document new ones, and write and edit assembly instruction manuals . May require contacting vendors, manufacturers, and technicians to obtain required part or material information. Will learn about using generated drawings to transition into production, obtain fabrication costs, and assembly. Learn about and help compile Bills of Materials for system assembly. Interns will gain real-world industrial engineering skills by using Whitaker procedures to transition designs into functional products.
Requirements
RequirementsCandidate will be familiar with using CAD or similar software for mechanical layouts. Good spacial design abilities. Knowledge of mechanical part design and assembly. Comfortable with learning new software. Comfortable with mechanical and electrical devices. Pleasant phone manners.
