Position Description Settlement and Reporting (S&R) AnalystTeam Overview:The Global Air Fulfillment Operations Team supports all aspects of the Air business with particular focus on the customer experience, efficient transaction processing and providing mission critical linkages between our customers, Expedia, and our partners.Position Overview:The Settlement and Reporting (S&R) Analyst position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills and in-depth knowledge of the travel industry, specifically ticketing and back-office reconciliation processes and requirements (ARC and BSP) to enable the identification of trends and opportunities for process and functional improvements. This individual will be detail oriented, flexible, organized, and possess the ability to balance individual contribution, with a strong team orientation. They will collaborate with a variety of individuals across and outside of the Global organization to define policy, process and procedure as well as drive operational excellence and achievement objectives and goals. Accountability:•Interface with various Expedia teams (technology, data management and finance for example) as required to ensure end to end understanding and successful management of back office settlement and reporting program.•Daily monitoring, analysis and reporting for Settlement and Reconciliation tools/reporting etc. for all EI global POS to ensure compliance to process/policy•Support internal teams as required to ensure all processes/procedures are up to date and compliant with ARC/BSP guidelines/requirements so as to contribute toward efficient billing and settlement processing•Successful completion of ARC and BSP Certification programs (if not already certified) and regular re-certification as required. •Responsible for keeping abreast of ARC/BSP policy updates•Interact with all Settlement partners (ARC/BSP, backoffice software provider, Settlement processing vendor) as required to resolve issues•Subject Matter Expert for all internal and external partners/vendors related to S&R•Responsibilities include but are not limited to:•Participation in any business review and process design workshops specific to defining, improving or implementing new systems and processes around settlement and reporting globally.•Participate in overall system training for Settlement & Reporting functions as needed•Daily monitoring and troubleshooting ARC/BSP Settlement and Reporting data/tool discrepancies for all points of sale globally•Problem solving by reproducing scenarios, researching available data, filing bug reports, developing alternatives to bring resolution to issues•Provide data driven recommendations for process/policy improvement to ensure effective transaction processing and achievement of established metrics•Escalate discrepancies as appropriate for resolution/Monitor progress/Ensure resolution is achieved•Assist testing new features for S&R related software/tools/reporting etc.•Make database/tool updates as required•Keep abreast of Settlement and Reporting Guidelines and Accounting policies and procedures to contribute toward efficient billing and settlement processing/policy.•Other duties as assignedWork Experience and Education Guidelines:•Strong ARC/BSP processing/reporting/financials background. ARC/BSP Certification preferred, but not mandatory•Previous experience with Central Command or similar back-office reporting systems desired•Knowledge of Sabre, Worldspan by Travelport, Amadeus or similar CRS system required•Knowledge of airline rules and regulations including fare rules, ticket exchanges, ticket refunds and itinerary changes required desired, but not mandatory.•Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, etc)•Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with attention to detail•Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to assess the audience and adjust communication style accordingly•Ability to influence others to ensure optimal decision making and product development in support of business needs•Highly organized and detail oriented with a very strong focus on process•Ability to work effectively in a diverse group as well as independently•Strong interpersonal and team working skills•Actively seeks feedback and is independently driven to gain knowledge, learn new applications, technologies, and skills to drive results.•Ability to travel on a limited basisCore Competencies:•Technical/Job Knowledge•Problem Solving•Results FocusedAbout Expedia, Inc.
