Description
The social media and community relations intern at Anne-Marie House will be instrumental in increasing our social media presence and gaining visibility for our nonprofit organization. The intern will also assist in community outreach projects as needed.
Details:
• This is an unpaid internship in exchange for college credit
• Estimated weekly hours are 10 hours per week, minimum three-month commitment
• Intern has flexibility to complete some tasks remotely from his or her own computer
• Opportunities for increased responsibility, including writing content
• The intern will work directly with the Director of Development
Anne-Marie House is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides transitional housing and support services to children and families experiencing homelessness.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include the following:
? Collect and generate meaningful and interesting content, including articles, photos and videos
? Communicate exciting organization news appropriately across all social media/outreach tools
? Manage a cloud-based content editorial calendar
? Monitor and engage our Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn audiences
? Follow and list appropriate people on Twitter
? Respond to social media leads about involvement with Anne-Marie House
? Create monthly newsletter in ConstantContact
? Occasional research for staff blog posts
? Update website as needed
? Track website statistics (Google Analytics)
Requirements
Understanding of Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter & Youtube
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Solid understanding of the internet and social media marketing best practices
Fearless attitude towards technology and a willingness to learn
Must be detail oriented, team player and technologically savvy
Must be comfortable with Microsoft Products
Passionate about social justice issues and nonprofit work
Must be self-disciplined and comfortable working independently if necessary
