Our website, www.universities.com provides free information on 4,299 online and 143,916 on-campus degrees along with expert insights to assist our users with making important education decisions. Our company, Solutions Advancing People, strives to promote education, community, and the advancement of all individuals with whom we do business -while having fun. We are looking for Social Media Interns who are passionate and eager to manage our social media presence, use social media technology to promote editorial content, and suggest courses of action to build our online social presence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the development of organization-wide social media management standards and policies of engagement for social media to increase visibility, traffic, and backlinks to www.universities.com • Suggest social media tools (for ex. FB connect, Sharing buttons) for our website • Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites, posting on relevant blogs, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate - most importantly, seeding our editorial content into social applications • Monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media programs, and analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results • Regularly feed back insights gained from social media monitoring into the Marketing and Editorial teams, to help them evolve their strategies in a timely fashion • Monitor trends in social media tools, trends and applications

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience and a passion for the social technology universe (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Foursquare, Flickr, blogs, wikis, RSS, social bookmarking). Provide links to 1-3 social networking profiles • Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and verbal format, and build and maintain relationships • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook, Digg, Youtube, Twitter, Flickr etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios • Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary • Ability to distinguish and behave with a good sense of decorum; acting as a brand ambassador is absolutely required • Have knowledge of principles of SEO, a plus • Public relations, Marketing, Community Management experience, a plus
