Description

USA TODAY Travel Media Group is seeking two social media interns for the spring semester. The interns will work with the team as we deploy our new digital and print products to increase (1) online presence, (2) reach a larger audience, (3) gather information, and (4) increase awareness.

Technical Skills: - Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Software - Strong internet researching skills - Strong understanding of, and affinity for, social media and social media marketing with the ability to efficiently research trends and best practices - A creative and innovative thinker with the ability to understand the role of social media in the travel industry and create content in appropriate voice for the group - Excellent attention to details - Excellent written communication skills with the ability to provide written reports as needed

Responsibilities

Projects and duties include, but not limited to: 1. Research social media marketing strategies and trends 2. Curate content and foster communities on social network pages such as Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest 3. Monitor and track social media KPIs (i.e., traffic, fan / follower, interaction, etc.) on social network pages 4. Run competitive analyses of competitors and clients

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA • For credit-only internships, documentation from the college or university detailing the internship requirements for credit must be provided to the hiring manager and HR Business Partner managing the internship
