M.A.S.O. is a grassroots organization providing healing services and holistic care for victims of domestic abuse as well as advocate for families in family courts and for change in current state laws. Through legal and medical research as well as advocacy, we aim to change the environment that abuse is not tolerated and children and victims need protection. And Victims can actually heal and severe the cords associated with abuse.
Interns will become intimately familiar with mission as well as assist in RESEARCH and identify the extent of the problem.
Responsibilities
Social Worker/Sociology interns will become intimately familiar with MASO's mission as well as researching, writing and observing trials to become aware of new cases as well as the implications of health and healing.
All interns will be expected to:
• Be familiar with current caseload and the data on the victims currently being assisted by MASO if is required at the time.
• Spend at least one day a week observing in court to find new cases and help complete research/surveys to compile data.
• Help strategize and implement programs to facilitate the healing process for victims.
• Plan and implement programs to make it easier for victims to come forward and be helped by MASO.
• Analyze and research data and be able to write accurate, detailed, comprehensive studies and/or research topics pertaining to legal, health, and/or healing.
• Work with advocates and agencies and assist with strategy to move the organization forward.
• Research and compile scientific data
• Be familiar with the work and goals of MASO and improve on the language of the mission statement for the organization.
• Coordinate and strategize fundraising efforts for the organization.
