Description
Hydra FC offers internships for current college students for credit/experience or others interested in working with a professional sports team on a volunteer basis. This internship (January through September) focuses on Software Development to join our Engineering Team as a spring/summer intern, you will take an active role in a well-established sports organization that operates in a fun, professional environment.Responsibilities
- Design and develop high quality, accessible, cross browser, and standards compliant web-based applications by bringing to bear an expertise in PHP, Javascript, Java, XML, and CSS as well as a strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) and Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture- Maintain in-house and third party software (including Drupal, Wordpress, Confluence, Jira, etc)
- Independently lead projects by meeting with user groups, gathering system requirements, making recommendations on code to be used and full project implementation
- Use document-oriented databases, event-driven web systems, and other optimized infrastructures in order to achieve scalability in data access and application performance
- Build engaging, dynamic, and interactive application user experiences for connecting brands and people
- Design, develop and maintain cross platform mobile applications
- Assist in configuration of MySQL, Apache, and PHP
- Other projects and duties, as directed by Hydra FC Director of Engineering.

Requirements
- Strong Web design with a creative eye- Must be able to work independently, handle UI experience
- Some experience in one or more of interface design, computer graphics design, application architecture, or database applications are required with demonstrated expertise in usability testing
- Strong working knowledge of some or all of WordPress, PHP, Java, JavaScript, WebSphere Portal, HTML, CSS, Adobe Photoshop, Flash, SQL Server, MySQL, Eclipse, and Linux
- Enjoy taking a mathematical approach to problems, and are highly analytical
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills
- You have interest in social media (working experience in this area is a plus)
