Description

WHO WE ARE Greenzu helps small businesses and non-profits go solar by removing the upfront cost. The biggest barrier to these buildings going solar is a lack of financing. To solve this problem, Greenzu developed an innovative solar system that we combine with a unique "no money down" financing package. Instead of paying upfront for the solar equipment, our business/non-profit customers just buys electricity from us. THE OPPORTUNITY With 4 million commercial rooftops ready for solar, Greenzu is poised to help America remove 57 Billion tons of CO2 from the air. Now we need a few smart, creative, interns to communicate this to the nation's media and business leaders. Our interns help us research the cost and benefits of clean tech for our clients. In addition, they act as solar advocates to the small business community. In return, we'll teach you all about renewable energy, solar finance, marketing, PR, and running a start-up. RESPONSIBILITIES Although this is a unpaid internship, the opportunity for students/recent grads is extremely rewarding. By joining the Greenzu team, you will be directly involved in not only the actual outreach but also with the overall market development strategy. You will also help draft articles for online publication and client reports.

Responsibilities

WORK-SCHEDULE As this in not a paid position, we understand you may have other commitments so we are willing to work around your schedule. However, we need people that can a make a rough commitment of at least 3 days per week in our office for the next 2 months. Our office is in downtown San Francisco. TO APPLY Ideally, please send us your resume and a brief cover letter about yourself. We understand many excellent students/recent grads do not have much experience to put in a resume yet. In fact, they take an internship to get that experience. The most important thing to us is that you are a clear and efficient writer (meaning quick). Do this by sending us a few short writing samples (or links to web posts). In addition, in your cover letter, please tell us the following: • Why do you find this internship appealing? What do you hope to get out of it? • What experience you do have writing? Do you write for a blog? Are you on Twitter? Are you active on social networks or online forums? • Have you done any other marketing or promotions work (for business or social purposes)? What did you do? Any samples? • Have you been involved in any renewable energy or environmental groups? If so, what did you do? • If you joined our team, when could you work? (i.e. what days/times could you come in?) Thanks, Greenzu

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS Our ideal interns are graduate students or recent grads with an interest in business, marketing, and the environment. We are breaking new ground with our work, so there is no set of experiences that we demand to see in a candidate. The most important factor is we are looking for passionate, creative, efficient writers. An above average comfort with basic Web 2.0 tools is also important. We'll teach you the rest. The personality traits we look for are: • Passion for writing • Has fun playing on Twitter, Facebook, and other online communities • Desire to take ownership of projects and carry them through • Creative, intelligent, thinks outside the box, enthusiastic • Passion for renewable energy and saving the planet
