The Sourcing Analyst will be responsible for developing and implementing analytical tools and reports to provide actionable measurements to the category teams to support all aspects of the sourcing process, including: sourcing strategy, budgeting, competitive assessment, productivity etc. The sourcing analyst not only create tools to drive efficiency in data collection (automation, standardization etc), but proactively analyze that data to provide actionable recommendations to the category teams.
As a resource for the category teams, the sourcing analyst will also be used in a tactical buying role as needed. In this tactical buying role, the analyst will take on assigned tactical buying responsibility and work to identify suppliers that deliver the best product/service, cost and delivery to support the need of the organization.
Major Duties Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement robust analysis and reporting
o Work with Sourcing Managers to understand information and data requirements; develop analysis and reports to support these needs
o Attain advanced training and access for Newell reporting tools for enhance reporting capability (BEX, SPM etc)
o Provide proactive report analysis to category teams for strategic sourcing improvements.
o Deep dive compliance reporting using root cause and pareto analysis and provide actionable analysis to category teams.
o Create, implement and maintain supplier scorecard
o Supply base analysis – Analyze current suppliers in assigned category (as well as dynamics like supplier adds etc.) to identify strategic gaps in the supply base in preferred, sub-category, location etc. and provide category teams gap analysis
o Review industry and internal best practices for reporting and analytics tools and implement those tools
• Support RFI / RFQ Processes
o Complete new supplier assessments
o Consolidate new project bid packages
• Support budgeting and on-going variance analysis
o Work closely with Sourcing managers to understand and project spend, variances, and risks
o Critically analyze spend and other factors to support the annual budgeting process
• Develop, implement, and manage sourcing agreements
o Work with Category teams to develop agreements to support business needs
o Negotiate and implement agreements with suppliers
o Manage agreements in the CLM tool for category team – Input of new agreements, updates for expiring agreements etc.
• SAP support and maintenance
o Data integrity Data governance – Primary category maintenance etc.
o Problem solving as needed
• Support tactical buy team
o Assume tactical buy responsibility as needed
o Identify, qualify and source goods/services from suppliers as needed
o Attain best total cost solution for assigned projects
• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or related field
• 1-3 years’ sourcing experience
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Excellent analytical and project leadership skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Power Point and SAP
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Ability to work in a matrix organization
• Consumer Products industry experience
