The Kansas Youth Soccer Association, located in Olathe Kansas is a non profit 501 (c) (3) youth sports organization which has been in existence since 1981. We are an Affiliate Member of the United States Youth Soccer Association and the United States Soccer Federation.
We are seeking an intern who has an interest in Sports Administration and Program Management - preferring someone who has had experience in soccer as a player or coach.
We currently have two internship openings for candidates.
Internship Period: March 1st to August 1st of 2012 and
Internship Period: August 1st to December 31st of 2012
Responsibilities
Interns would report to the Program Directors and responsibilities would Include, but not be limited to:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Administration, Coordination and Implementation of Program Events: Tournaments, Olympic Development Program, Camps, etc.
* Office Duties as assigned
* Assisting with membership communication and retention
* Public Relations promotions and communication
* Working with children
* Assisting in obtaining Sponsorships and Partnerships
* Assisting with fundraising efforts for grants, research for grants and for our Soccer Foundation
Requirements
Candidates for this position must be 18 years or older and enrolled in an accredited College or University program and seeking a degree in Sports Administration or another Sports Related Field. The preference will be for candidates who have soccer experience as a player or coach, but would consider other candidates.
Candidates must have a College GPA of 3.5 or better and be proficient in web based and office based computer programs (i.e. Word, Power Point, Excel, web design programs, graphic design, etc.) Must be proficient in English and be a self starter and have excellent communication skills. Spanish speaking skills are a plus. Must pass a National Background Check.
Must have their own reliable transportation and living arrangements
