DescriptionGeorgia's State Art Collection (SAC) is an extensive, vibrant chronicle of work created by Georgia artists from the 1970s to the 1990s. Each piece in the collection was juried by a panel of experts. It is a state asset that serves as an educational tool, preserves the state's artistic heritage and disseminates knowledge about the art and artists of Georgia. The SAC Intern will assist with updating a comprehensive list of all currently held pieces of art, their location and condition cross referenced against information in the GCA database and various loan schedules. In addition this position will support the Director in the management of SAC loans and have the opportunity to be involved with the SAC digitization project which is being initiated in partnership with the New Georgia Encyclopedia.

Funding for Georgia Council for the Arts is provided by appropriations from the Georgia General Assembly, the National Endowment for the Arts and other private and public sources.
