2014 AT&T Summer Intern - Project Manager-Client & Workplace Strategies

AT&T Corporate Real Estate’s functions include acquisition and disposition of real estate, management of workplace needs, including property management, office space planning, fire safety, building security, design and construction, and more. AT&T Corporate Real Estate exists to deliver innovative, sustainable, cost-effective solutions to our clients while optimizing the value of the portfolio and brand. The intern position will be on the Client & Workplace Strategy team, supporting the Your Workplace 2020 program. Your Workplace at AT&T is a portfolio of places, technologies and services - physical and virtual - designed around the processes of work.


Candidates should have a basic understanding of real estate, business, engineering, architecture or interior design. Graduate program experience a plus. The candidate will be actively enrolled in, or a recent graduate of, a university related program in Real Estate (Architecture or Interior Design), Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical), or Computer Science/Information Systems. The individual must demonstrate the ability to interface with all levels of management to understand business needs and relate to corporate real estate objectives. Perform data analysis in Excel or Access, writing and presentation assignments with PowerPoint, and create business messages using video and/or social media tools. Having a working knowledge of standard software office tools and proficiency in presentation media, such as Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Word and Outlook is required. The ability to focus on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously and the ability to work independently are required. Ability to interpret business requirements and programming specifications requirements is a plus. Experience or understanding of space planning, budget development/financial analysis, and project management is desired. Candidates should be self-motivated, takes initiative, drives for results, and team oriented.

This summer intern will be based in Dallas, TX and will report to the Director or Senior Member of CRE's Client and Workplace Strategies GWS product management team. The successful candidate has the potential to become a permanent, full time member of our CWS team assuming skills, character and performance are all a satisfactory match.

Potential projects include:

Editing and developing web based training content in support of our four Your Workplace platforms
Contributing to the development and implementation of our CWS Strategic Communications Plan and workplace transformation project communications templates
Assembling, evaluating and tracking workplace transformation projects
Developing, testing and implementing CWS toolsets and processes
Supporting data manipulation and analytics for CRE portfolio
Managing business unit interactions/request
Required Qualifications:

  • Working toward BS/BA or graduate degree in Real Estate (Architecture/Interior Design), Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical), or related technical or scientific field
  • 3.2 GPA or Above
  • Operate a personal computer or wireless device
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoke
  • Must be self-motivated and possess strong teamwork skills
  • Must be able to clear background check and pre-employment drug screening test
  • May be required to clear driver’s license check
