DescriptionMercurylab, a Brand Strategy & Creative Communications Consultancy based in Downtown Brooklyn, seeks two highly motivated interns, one with a Business/Social Media outlook and the other with a Design and Web background for the Fall 2013 and Winter/Spring 2014 semester with an interest in qualitative branding, marketing, project management, and small business. Ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail oriented, personable, proactive, patient, good at taking initiative and taking direction. Must be flexible, easygoing, and discreet as you will be involved with the inner workings of our business.
ResponsibilitiesStudents with an interest in Marketing, Communications, Business, or Public Relations preferred. Intern will work closely with the owner and studio manager, and acquire and implement a variety of skills in basic office administration, support and maintenance, coordination of design projects, implementation of promotional and marketing initiatives, and much, much more. This is a great opportunity to learn a lot about Brand Strategy from a well-established brand consultant with a prestigious client list. We will gladly provide any documentation at semester’s end to account for credit and/or grading requirements.
Beth Taubner of Mercurylab has been a Creative Director and Brand Strategist working with creative communications for the past twenty years. She is nationally known for her expertise in creating branding programs and distinctive concepts, visuals and communications for businesses large and small. Her clients have ranged from well-known American brands such as A&E, Kodak, Chase, Stop & Shop and Miramax Films to the College of Human Sciences at Auburn University, LA Style Magazine, Conde Nast Brides and International. She has taught at prestigious schools such as Art Center College of Design and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and offers one-on-one consulting, public speaking and group seminars on brand development and implementation.
Requires working knowledge of MS Office and Mac OS, and excellent written and conversational skills. Some elementary knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop), and ability to do some basic tech support is a huge plus, but not mandatory.
