Looking to an Arts intern one or two days a week to work in my studio at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria. Intern will help with production pieces sold in museum shops (training provided), research marketing opportunities, greet visitors, and handle sales. Thos is a good opportunity to learn what an arts career is like and meet 160 established artists in various phases of their careers.
Responsibilities
- Support and expand public relations with collectors, media contacts, artists and the general public
- Assist in managing studio operations
- Assist in management, marketing, communications, and production
- Assist during events and receptions
- Maintain website, blog and social media network presence
- Handle and sell original artwork
Requirements
- Studio Arts, Marketing/Hospitality, Business/Accounting, Art History, Communications Majors (preferred)
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication
- Possess multi-tasking and coordination experience
- Passion for art; actively involved in the art community
- Demonstrate attention to details while maintaining perspective
- Have working knowledge Internet and social media
