Description
The NYU Summer Program for Kids, is a 7-week, therapeutic day program for children with ADHD and other behavior disorders, aged 7-11. We are currently seeking counselors for the 2013 program The 2013 program will be held at the College of New Rochelle in New Rochelle NY and will begin on June 24 and run through to August 9. Program hours are 8:15 am to 4:00 pm, however, counselors need to arrive by 7:30 am and stay after children leave to complete data entry and paperwork. Responsibilities
Prior to the start of the program, counselors are required to particiipate in a comprehensive training program beginning on or around June 1, for 3-1/2 weeks. Ttraining is held at our Lake Success, NY location.
Counselors will supervise 4 groups of 12-14 children during daily activities. Implement comprehensive behavior modification system. Monitor children's functioning. Interact with parents as required. Daily data collection .
Requirements
Junior level undergraduate or higher; psychology or education majors with prior experience working with children. Good academic skills. Sports skills and/or knowledge of. Enthusiasm and high energy.
