Description

This is a non-exempt position for college or graduate level students, as well as employees brought in on a temporary basis to determine if a match exists between the skill set of the intern and SIHO. The purpose of the internship is to prepare students and professionals for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the internal and external functions of a health insurance services. Preference will be given to Juniors and Seniors who will be graduating with the next 15 to 18 months.This is a PAID internship with the possibility of a performance bonus at the conclusion of the internship

Responsibilities

Interns must be willing and capable to perform any duties or projects assigned. This may include, but is not limited to: operational and administrative tasks, collaborative work with other interns and staff, as well as projects assigned dependent on the needs of the company. • Understand ethics, compliance, and business conduct issues pertaining to the health insurance industry • Develop presentation, planning, organizational, and time management skills • Develop team-based work competencies and relationships with peers, superiors, and mentor

Requirements

• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products • Possess a passion for customer service • Ability to work at a self-directed pace in a changing, fast paced environment • Professional appearance and presence • Commitment to support and maintain confidentiality in conformance to HIPAA guidelines • Accountable, self-motivated, ability to follow direction, time management skills, excellent communications (oral and written) skills
