This Logistics Internship will be a project based internship leveraging Supply Chain concepts with an end goal of presenting key findings and recommendations to key Polaris leadership. Gain a working knowledge of the methodology you've been studying: optimization, statistics, logistical analysis, operations research, systems engineering and much more.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
¨ Review and analyze International Expedited Management Program to find break-down points in the system and quickly identify solutions. The project goal is to reduce spend by 20%.
¨ Monitor Logistics bottlenecks and adjust plans to avoid congestion and drive efficiency.
¨ Develop and manage cost related reporting and dashboard – this will allow us to be able to compare actual costs, in real time, with previously set targets. Early visibility into the difference between target and actual costs allows us to modify plans downstream.
¨ Recommend benchmark metrics for International Logistics Organization.
¨ Provide technical and resource information to the Logistics Organization.
¨ Perform other general logistic support functions as required.
¨ BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain or Operations Management
¨ Communicates effectively at all organizational levels, both orally and in writing.
¨ Thinks “outside the box”.
¨ Strong organizational skills. Ability to manage several complex projects at the same time.
¨ Knowledge of Microsoft office software for analysis, reporting and presentations helpful.
¨ Superior undergraduate academic record - 3.0 GPA or higher.
¨ Proven strength in analysis and creative problem solving, communication, interpersonal relationships, self-motivation, and leadership.
