Global Learning Objectives

  • Learn about HSN: The overall organization, business unit and department overview.
  • Gain exposure to industry and profession that align to desired career path.
Overview of the Internship Opportunity: Working within Producing department to gain a better understanding and experience in a live show atmosphere.
  • Learning each position related to the broadcast field
  • Attaining further knowledge of the live show that is not taught in class
  • Gaining first hand experience in every position to the point where the student knows what to expect when going out into the real world
  • Gain exposure on working with live show team, hosts, guests, partners and other departments that touch the live show
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Assistant Producer:
  • Executing the daily responsibilities of the AP position.
  • Additional department needs when applicable.
  • Attending daily and weekly team meetings


  • Understanding how the producer executes the live show.
  • Additional department needs when applicable.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Classes in Producing and/or Production with an understanding of content (be it graphic or video in nature)
  • Detail-oriented and good at managing projects, timelines and deliverables.
  • Some knowledge of HSN is a plus
  • You must be enrolled in your Junior and Senior year
  • In order to participate in our TV Internship program, you must be earning college credit
  • Ideal candidate will be able to aid in an entire project- from start to finish. This is availability based, but that's for ideal learning as well
  • Must be able to participate in a minimum of3 days per week, depending on length of semester.
