Description

Main Street Learning Center is a safe and nurturing environment for all students striving for academic success and enrichment. Highly dedicated and accredited instructors will provide individual subject assessment, expert attention, study plans, and student evaluations. We provide K-12 Homework Help and One on One Tutoring in Math, English, and Science, Reading Readiness for ages 3-5, Basic Computer Skills for Seniors, as well as a variety of personal enrichment courses for children and adults.

We are currently looking for student interns to work as teaching assistants Monday-Thursday from 3-6pm. You do not need to be available for all of those hours; we will have an alternating schedule. We offer academic and community service credit for these volunteer positions. This opportunity is a perfect fit for those interested in gaining first-hand teaching experience before graduating from school or attaining their teaching credentials. Enrolled college students are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Interns will assist main teacher in carrying out daily lesson plan, preparing materials, taking attendance, and teaching/tutoring.

Requirements

Previous experience in education or tutoring is preferred, but not required. Recommended applicants are current high school (juniors and seniors) and college students aspiring to work in:

-Education
-Psychology/Child Psychology
-Sociology/Social Services
-Caregiving

LiveScan and background check mandatory.
