Description
Who we are: We are a small professional audio company that also provides technical production services (lighting, power, staging, etc) for live concerts, fund raisers, church events, theatre or any other type if live show. We have run sound for some major names. We've been involved in music festivals in the NY/NJ area including All Points West and Rock the Bells. We are relatively informal and love sharing our knowledge and experience with those who are willing and interested. Our crew works well together and has even built some strong bonds. Previous interns have started out from the very basics and now work as freelancers or are employed by production companies in NYC working with high level acts and gear.
Responsibilities
What you'll do:The prospective intern would assist in all facets of technical event production. You'll get hands-on experience and exposure to the many stages of preparation, loading, set-up and break-down of the sound system, and possibly also the power distribution. The right candidate will get hands-on experience with our digital and/or analog consoles and power amps. You'll learn the basics of stage set-up (mics, mic stands, cables, snakes, etc).
Requirements
You must be able to lift at least 40lbs and be able to handle long hours and heat. This work is not glamorous. It is hard and demanding but, for the right individual, it is absolutely rewarding.Above all, you must be interested in learning about audio and/or technical production. You must present a positive attitude and be enthusiastic. Must be willing to contribute to the success of a show and help improve the company.
