Alkek 8 is a 22-bed acute care Renal, Endocrine Medical telemetry unit with an ADC of 21. There is the capability of monitoring eight patients on telemetry. Patients on telemetry are not on cardiac drips. Medical andsurgical patients are also admitted via transfer from other units which include ICU and direct admissions, and admissions from the EmergencyThe Unit Secretary is responsible for all receptionist and clerical duties on the assigned unit and for meeting the needs of patients and family as requested.
