The Undergrad Intern- IT Retail Pharmacy Data Warehouse would be working on the Retail Pharmacy Data Warehouse (RxDW), a 75 plus Terabyte Oracle and Teradata database system.
The RxDW is comprised of several applications that support the Pharmacy Operations, Legal, Risk Management, and PBM business units as well as several other departments (both in IT and the business) at CVS. These application are based on SQL/PLSQL, ETL (Informatica) , Unix, Java, and Microstrategy technologies.
Working in a team atmosphere, the Undergrad Intern- IT Retail Pharmacy Data Warehouse will be exposed to software engineering processes, Business Intelligence (BI) processes, and software development best practices during their employ.
The Undergrad Intern- IT Retail Pharmacy Data Warehouse will shadow other team members in deploying and technically supporting several business critical projects that will be deployed throughout the second and third quarters of 2014. These projects will directly impact and interact with our stores, patients, and various corporate departments. While working on these projects, the candidate will be exposed to CVS Business practices.
As noted in the position title, this position is centered on working with ‘data’; the extracting, storing, and processing of large volumes of data. Data management best practices are reviewed and adhered to.
A key benefit of this position is the potential to work closely with the business, gaining an understanding of CVS best business practices, and, more importantly, understanding how IT can best support the business. Required Qualifications:
*A minimum of 2 - 3 years of college education in a program focused in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems. *Good communication skills Programming (one or more of the following): *Database knowledge (Oracle, Access, etc.) *Analytical & logical skill set. *Open systems (ie Java) experience/education *Data Modeling *Decision support systems Preferred Qualifications:
