Community Supported Film and SheridanWorks are looking for an intern to assist with video post-production. Community Supported Film’s mission as a not-for-profit organization is to integrate training, storytelling and awareness building by: 1. Training storytellers from poor and developing communities in non-fiction filmmaking and assisting them with the development of their careers as filmmakers and video-journalists 2. Producing engaging stories from the trainee’s perspective about important social and economic development issues in their communities. These stories counteract the relentless focus of the western media on battlefronts, crises and disasters. 3. Building a bridge between the community of filmmakers, communities in development, and an international community of concerned citizens. This conversation raises awareness about sustainable paths to a more peaceful and equitable world. This is an excellent opportunity to help build an organization in its start-up phase. Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities: 1. Post-Production Assistance Assist CSFilm and SheridanWorks in post-production tasks using Avid Media Composer, including: • Logging, transcribing and capturing video material • Editing rough cuts • Managing media file systems • Compressing, uploading and mastering DVDs and web media files

Requirements

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience: • Experience with documentary video post-production, including: o Art and craft of documentary editing o Digital video post-production equipment o Avid Media Composer software o Video compression and media production for DVD and the web • Organized and Detial-oriented • Excellent communications skills • A self-starter requiring minimal supervision with ability to take initiative, follow through and carry multiple tasks to completion • A strong team player with excellent work ethic and a good sense of humor Additional Skills • Software: o Web technology including but not limited to Wordpress o Photoshop, iPhoto, Illustrator and other image and graphic software • Knowledge of issues of social and economic development Application Deadline: Please apply as soon as possible.
