Intern will work in the administrative offices of the NRO, working closely with the Director of Marketing & Development, Chief Executive Officer, Office Manager, Marketing Committee, and other administrative staff. Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include: assisting with the creation of marketing/publicity materials and ads; updating the website and electronic PR (eNewsletters), maintaining and organizing press clippings; writing and sending press releases for performances and other NRO activities; updating email and fax lists of local and national publicity contacts; aid in creation of audience surveys. The Marketing/PR intern may also assist the Artistic Staff with writing and proofreading of program information and working the performances in a variety of roles, including but not limited to box office duties and audience announcements. Dress: During day, responsible for always wearing appropriate "office casual" attire. Performance dress is more formal. At all other times and events, clean and professional attire is required. Video/PR Intern reports to the Director of Marketing and accepts assignments from Chief Executive Officer, Marketing Staff/Committee, and other administrative staff.

Requirements

Intern must be able to post videos throughout the summer on YouTube and produce a short video about the NRO at the end of the summer festival season. Must be able to handle organizational and communications aspects of position in a positive, professional, timely, and efficient manner. Excellent writing and communication skills are a must. Knowledge of video/film techniques and equipment, experience in video editing, design, audio, interviewing, and documentary research required. The position also requires knowledge of Final Cut Pro and exporting for DVDs and the web. Please send work sample as a part of the application (e.g. video). Working knowledge of classical music a plus. Above all, must have a positive attitude and be a team player.
