Education First is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and health of children in under-served and rural communities in Africa. We provide professional development for teachers, donate instructional supplies to schools and school supplies to children. We are currently opening two schools in Liberia and we would like to have someone work on our existing website and facebook page page to reflect the expansion of our international projects and programs. The person(s) will have the opportunity to learn about philanthropy from an international perspective as they redesign and rebuild the website and facebok page. This project will also contribute significantly to the intern's professional portfolio and provide extensive experience in using FLASH to build a website. The Executive Director of Education First will write strong letter of recommendation for the intern's portfolio.


The intern should be creative and wiling to take risks in trying out ideas that will help make the website attractive, user friendly and inviting. The responsibilities include and not limited to redesigning a website in FLASH, selecting templates that are user friendly to rebuild the website, be comfortable doing advance work in Facebook technology as another source of information retrieval about the organization. Work in the appearance,content, functionality, usability and optimize the search engines during different stages of the project.


The following are the basic experience for this position:
1. working knowledge and experience in website design and development.
2. be able to develop and redesign website in FLASH
3. have working knowledge in upgrading Facebook page
4. have experience with some graphic art
5. be creative
Must be able to work on the following five key elements of an effective website
1. Appearance
2. Content
3. Functionality
4. Website Usability
5. Search Engine Optimization
