Job Summary
This internship focuses on the management and support of volunteers in a nonprofit setting. The intern will help increase the capacity of The Centers’ staff to provide continued exceptional service to clients by supporting ongoing volunteering, Done-In-A-Day projects, connecting people to opportunities, and recruiting volunteers. The intern will work closely with the Volunteer Engagement Manager. This position is unpaid.

Training and Support
• New staff orientation (one time)

Time Commitment
15-20 hours per week, flexible with school schedule
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop an orientation and training program for English as a Second Language (ESL) volunteers
• Answer inquiries from prospective volunteers, conduct phone screens, provide paperwork, schedule and conduct interviews
• Work with staff from food centers, early learning centers and El Barrio to support their volunteer needs
Requirements
Qualifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and experience with social media preferred
• Must have proven ability to work independently in an organized, time-efficient, results-oriented manner
• Must work effectively and professionally with diverse groups, all levels of staff within organization, and the public
• Must have the ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent time constraints and be able to handle confidential information
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills required
