Job Description
The Director of Leadership Development will be responsible for the development and execution of the leadership strategy to include leadership development, change management, curriculum development, high-potential development and succession planning. The Director will design and implement leadership development programs to ensure our client is developing leader skills and capabilities to support the growth and evolution of their fast growing business.

Leadership Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Adult Education, Organizational Development or related required.
  • Advanced degree in Organization Development, Industrial Psychology, Business or related field preferred.
  • 5 -7 years progressive experience in management training, leadership/executive development experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, managing and executing adult learning programs for all leader levels.
  • Deep talent management and project leadership experience; experience leading change management, talent reviews and succession planning in a large organization.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with corporate leadership, center managers, and various departments to effectively support training, development, and performance throughout the organization.
  • Proven ability to manage direct reports and lead a department that supports performance management.
  • Strong project management skills, along the ability to document and communicate project plans, monitor work in progress, achieve project milestones/end results for others to understand.
  • Demonstrated leadership coaching experience with leaders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of Performance Management and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.
  • Experience in group facilitation, coaching and leading teams /organizations in performance improvement strategies that result in higher performance.
  • Experience in selection and management of external leadership development vendors.

Principal Duties

· Partners with the VP, Training to create and lead implementation of best-in-class leadership learning and development strategy.
· Partners with VP, Training to establish the strategic vision for company-wide leadership training content and delivery.
  • Partner with Business Leadership and Human Resources Business Partners to conduct leadership opportunity assessments and to help identify gaps and develop/source solutions to improve leadership development.
  • Partner with top leaders to build a culture of high performance, development and accountability for talent development.
  • Partner with talent development resources to utilize leadership development programs and materials are being used throughout the company.
  • Collaborate with talent development resources to ensure leadership development is linked to leadership development opportunities.
  • Partner with Director of Employee Engagement with Talent Review process including the identification and development of top, emerging, and valued talent.
  • Develop and deliver programs to address critical needs including change management, leadership development and career development.
  • Support a formal succession planning process across the organization (includes: core leader competencies required to deliver business strategy.)
  • Work with senior leaders to create high-potential development programs. This includes design and implementation of an effective leadership development program, including experiential learning, action learning experiences, and other program needs that tightly manage the career growth for targeted high potential leaders.
  • Design programs using a blend of delivery methods (distance learning, eLearning, instructor-led training, self-directed toolkits)
  • Manage all aspects of leadership training lifecycle, to include ongoing training programs, development of future training programs, and training consultation for key stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage leadership development program and succession planning metrics to measure effectiveness and recommend implementation.
  • Develop measures, benchmarks and scorecards to monitor the effectiveness of leadership development efforts; apply these measures to drive progress in talent management and retention.
  • Lead and conduct training courses across the organization.
  • Identify key training partners (vendors, consulting firms, universities, etc.) to assist with curriculum design and delivery.
  • Manage all aspects of the training partner relationship, vendor selection, vendor management, program design, and program evaluation.
  • Work as part of the Human Resources Leadership team, promote best practices and assist with the implementation of other critical business initiatives.
  • Accountable for self-development and keeps current on leadership, education and healthcare topics.
