Description

Our summer seasonal resort is a historic country inn with Bed & Breakfast, Restaurant & Museum located next to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. We hire 35-40 college students as summer staff during our tourist season May through mid October. We need only service oriented, hard workers who will enjoy our mountain setting with its opportunities for exploring the great outdoors. Responsible for all Dining Room operations to include guest services, quality controls, staff training and scheduling. Accountable for all liquor controls and inventory. Must be people person, computer literate, with excellent communication /skills. As an internship, this management position is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in front of house guest satisfaction and personnel management. May-October Minimum of 48 hrs per week, 6 days per week Starting Compensation = Housing & Food + monthly Salary

Responsibilities

Meet & greet customers in a pleasant professional manner by phone or in person Schedule appointments to meet with Brides & Grooms and /or Planners to sell events. Make Event reservations (Dining & Lodging) following set procedures, confirming all details with owner) Using computer, prepare info packets for special event inquiries. Document all event correspondence, track all deposits and final billings. Oversee all event concerns; notify owner of any discrepancy or problem. Provide Hotel Manager with guest lodging list with payment plan one week prior to event. Confirm with Managers all event times, guest numbers, details with payment plan one week prior to event. Provide schedule of events and menus one week prior to all events. Upon arrival of Bride & Groom or contact person, confirm all details & times. Assist Event guests with Concierge services. Be responsible for set up of all event areas (i.e. linens, bar, cake table, decorations, etc) Coordinate champagne service and cake cutting. Recheck cleanliness in all guest areas. Handle all duties as assigned to Dining Room Manager

Requirements

Must exhibit an appropriate attitude of hospitality with all clientele. Must be able to effectively communicate with supervisors and to subordinates & peers. Must be honest. Must be able to read and follow directions. Must be familiar with basic computer use. Must be able to stand at work for up to 4 hours. Must be able to understand and maintain basic cash procedures, accounting and inventory records. Notes: It is to be understood that you will follow set procedures in detail. We have very specific high quality standards that must be maintained at all times. A clean neat appearance is required at all times. Lateness is not tolerated. The use of illegal drugs or alcohol on duty will be grounds for immediate dismissal. Baldpate Inn is a non-smoking facility for both staff and guests. No form of sexual harassment will be tolerated, including the use of rude abusive language or actions. We operate using the “Golden Rule.” Treat others as kindly as you wish to be treated. Your job position at The Baldpate Inn is to be considered your primary employment. Any consideration for additional part-time employment must be first cleared with senior supervisor.
