Description
Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library is the home of the former H.F. DuPont with 1,000 acres of naturalistic gardens set amid the rolling hills of Delaware's Brandywine Valley area. Appealing to a wide audience of tourists, culture seekers, and avid horticulturists, the Winterthur Garden is a historic and rare example of a "wild garden." The Horticultural Internship program began in 1991 and is a continuation of Henry Francis du Pont's love of horticulture. While Winterthur's garden features a naturalistic garden design with Marian Coffin influence in many areas, a great deal of time & effort goes into maintaining and presering this living treasure.
