Network Support Engineer

We are looking for a well-rounded IT Support Engineer to assist with a growing customer base. Applicant must have working knowledge of the skills listed below and, more importantly, must have experience working directly with small and medium businesses in a variety of industries. An ability to translate tech talk into plain English while remaining calm, cool and collected in stressful situations and providing clients prompt attention / service are skills that are as important as technical aptitude. We’re looking for an IT Professional that is serious about their career and is ready to grow their skill set through continuous on-the-job training, and completion of industry certifications.

This person will work directly with CEO’s, Presidents, Office Managers, Office Administrators, and end users of small to medium- sized businesses. They must have a personable and professional attitude and demeanor while providing exceptional, high-quality, professional desktop, laptop, and office application support via remote assistance and, occasionally, onsite. This includes the deployment and troubleshooting of all hardware, operating systems, mobile device support and software applications.

This position is Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, but could require late evening and weekend work per client needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications

*Support virtual environments built on Microsoft’s Hyper-V, VMware

*Supports Outlook 2010-2013 for Exchange and mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and Androids

* Support disaster recovery solutions

*Technical support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls and security

*Performs desktop and laptop system deployments including hardware and software configurations

*Provides daily written updates on status of current tickets, open issues and projects

*Monitor, research and resolve client network, server and desktop alerts from our remote network monitoring and management system

*Performs troubleshooting of supported desktop operating systems and applications

*Interacts with vendors to facilitate repairs of hardware

*Documents system problems and resolution for future reference

*Maintains confidentiality of company information

*System documentation and consulting services to include system reviews and recommendations

*Communicate with clients and keep them informed of your progress

*Regional travel required

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required:

Basic (Required)

*Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and work history

*Minimum 2 years hands-on support experience with desktop support technologies including: Windows XP, Win 7/8, macOS 10.X, Outlook 2010-2013, iPhone, iPad, Microsoft desktop applications, basic to intermediate-level networking, and problem tracking software

*Excellent written and verbal communication skills, effective active listening skills, professional appearance, punctuality and a sense of urgency

*Must be detail oriented, a team player and have the ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines

*Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly

*Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment

Preferred (Highly Desired)

*A+ and Net+ or Microsoft Certifications

*Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Cisco CCNA, or other
