Senior Java Developer

Our client is a premier government project service organization seeking a creative Java Developer asset to deliver software/application solutions to client issues. Opportunity Details:

  • Role: Senior Java Developer / Engineer
  • Location:Herndon, VA(not remote)
  • Placement:Public Sector (Federal)
  • Duration: Long-Term Contract – 10+ months with expected extension and permanent-hire consideration
  • Compensation Package: Competitive – (Fair-Market Value for 8+ years of experience as Java / Oracle SQL Developer)
  • Performance Location: Herndon, VA
  • Clearance:(Public Trust) – Must be eligible (May begin role during Activation process)
  • Status: US Citizenship or Green Card Holder

Your Opportunity Description:

Our client is a prime federal-government contractor looking for an experienced developer who possesses high-level creative power and processes, intimate familiarity with all phases of the development lifecycle.

Note: Resource must be onsite in Herndon, VA. No remote work.

Your Qualifications for Interview Consideration:

  • 5+ years advanced computer programming skills in Java/J2EE, Web Services and APIs
  • 5+ years PL\SQL Developer experience
  • Advanced working skills with IBM WebSphere and/or Oracle WebLogic technologies
  • Advanced working skills in programming with SQL or Oracle.
  • 8+ years of experience in systems analysis and working closely with business customer
  • Experience with Subversion, code versioning and change management concepts
  • Experience with full life-cycle software applications development (i.e., design, construction, testing, and implementation)
  • Experience with requirements definition and specifications design
  • Experience analyzing functional requirements in Sprints to write component detailed design technical documents.
  • Able to design and build systems that are integrated with other client systems
  • Demonstrates an expert level of proficiency in the use of computer languages and utilities necessary to support application development

  • Exceptional creative ability
  • Strong analytical skills in line with solving enterprise IT challenges and business opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to perform the complete system life cycle using the Agile Scrum Methodology phases from project initiation, analysis and requirements, design, coding, testing and implementation
  • Able to adhere to client development standards
  • Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain system documentation
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4 years)

Your Hiring Process Provisions:

  • Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
  • If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
  • All candidates must be a US Citizen, have permanent residence status
  • Cannot have more than 30 consecutive days outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
  • The dress code is business casual, (i.e. collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women).
  • If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
