Responsibilities

The Mechanical Engineer - Management Associate is an entry level position available to candidates who have graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree within the last three years. The position includes a 12 month training period to prepare for a management position at our Minnesota Ore Operation’s facilities. Training consists of classroom and hands on work experiences in areas such as safety, communication, leadership, teamwork, problem solving, and specific process and equipment training. The Management Associate will apply engineering and problem solving techniques to keep the operation running safely and efficiently at all times. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising and training employees in a unionized environment, and consulting with other production and maintenance managers, plant engineers, staff professionals, and outside equipment manufacturers on projects and assignments that ensure maximum efficiency with minimum interruption.

Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; however, those with a general engineering degree or engineering technology are encouraged to apply. Excellent computer and communication skills are a must as well as an interest in hands on assignments in a manufacturing environment. The candidate must also have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule, weekends, and holidays. All successful candidates are subject to background checks, pre-employment physical examinations, and drug and alcohol screening. This position is located at our Keetac facility in Keewatin, MN.
