WETA Public Television and Classical 90.9 FM provides internship opportunities designed to help expand students' knowledge and experience in public media and compliment their studies.
Working on the weekly national program, "Washington Week with Gwen Ifill", the intern will research national and international news stories, fact-check scripts, monitor live news events, log video archives, prepare the green room for guests, and assist with website updates. They will also participate in weekly editorial meetings and assist producers in the control room during the live broadcast. Special projects as assigned.

Requirements
College junior, senior or graduate student interested in pursuing a career in broadcast journalism with a preferred major in Journalism, Communication, English, Political Science, or History. A self-starter with strong communication skills, extensive knowledge and interest in national politics, with strong organizational and computer skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Availability must include Thursday afternoons and Friday afternoon/evenings.
To be eligible, interns must be currently enrolled in a college or university or have graduated within 12 months from the beginning of the internship. Interns may receive academic credit for their internship if approved and arranged by their educational institution.
