DescriptionThe Summer Internship Program gives students a chance to build their work experience and learn about what goes on outside the lines and behind the scenes of a basketball court. This 10-week (June - August), paid summer program also gives Interns the opportunity to participate in a series of events and activities that provide exposure to the varied facets of the NBA’s business.
All positions are located at the NBA league offices in either midtown Manhattan or Secaucus, New Jersey. Interns must be able to dedicate full time hours, Monday through Friday, for the full 10-week program.
Applicant placement within an NBA Department is based on interest, experience, academic achievement and the NBA’s business needs. All positions are located at the NBA League Offices in either New York City (midtown Manhattan) or Secaucus, New Jersey.
Requirements• Excellent written and communication skills
• Detail orientation
• Exceptional problem solving skills
• Ability to make independent decisions
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
To qualify for the Internship Program, students must be either (a) enrolled in an accredited undergraduate college or university and be between their junior and senior year OR (b) a graduate student (typically MBA) or Law student between their first and second year. Candidates must be in excellent academic standing, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and be able to dedicate full-time hours (Monday – Friday) for the full 10-week program. Additionally, candidates should possess demonstrable leadership skills through relevant extracurricular activities, along with meaningful internship or other experience. We are particularly interested in candidates who are fluent in second languages spoken in locations where the NBA maintains offices.
