The Newport Group has been leading the executive search industry for over 16 years, working nationally and internationally from our offices in Encinitas, California. We are aggressively seeking practice leads that have good subject matter expertise in recruitment practice areas that unique and new to The Newport Group.  We thrive within a positive work environment filled with energy and excitement. We are looking for a self-motivated, confident, driven leaders to step in as Recruiting Practice Leads within our growing team to oversee and lead new practice areas. Currently, we are specializing in the energy, construction, real estate, and life sciences and are looking to expand into new underserviced practice areas.

1.    We have a full-time dedicated Director of Teambuilding who’s responsible for recruiting, onboarding, and training new recruiters for your group.

2.    You’ll be able to take your existing knowledge of recruiting in your specific industry and enhance it by building a team, securing a dominant position in your niche.

3.    You have the opportunity to set the direction of the group and operate your business under The Newport Group’s umbrella.

4.    We’ll provide you with administrative, financial and marketing support.

5.    You’ll have the ability to be compensated based on your personal production, and receive overrides on your team’s production.

Desired Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience leading and managing a team of search consultants/researchers in either a retained or contingency based setting or proven experience as a Senior Recruiter.  This is also an ideal position for someone that owns a boutique search firm that wants to get away from the financial and administrative burdens of owning a firm to focus on production and recruiter development.

We are ONLY interested in candidates who have experience with full life cycle, 360 degree recruiting in PERMANENT PLACEMENT recruiting environment!  Those who can lead and build and work full agency desks.  Successful practice lead candidates will be well versed at:  Developing clients, writing search assignments, negotiating fees, recruiting candidates and presenting candidates to hiring authorities.

We’re looking for those who have previous experience working with candidates at the $100,000 salary range and above, within full-cycle or full-desk recruiting. Your area/industry of specialization will be the focus of the team you build and lead. You will mentor and manage staff, while also participating in setting policies, procedures, and actively developing key accounts.  While focusing on your area/industry specialization, we will build a team of recruiters around you, with this synergy providing you the opportunity to bill placements at large amounts.  You will lead by example, assist with training and development, and partake in a positive, productive, and thriving work environment.  Additionally, the right candidate will have a clear understanding of market mastery as it relates to a unique recruiting niche.
