Location: Syracuse, NY or Field Based

The Renewal Account Manager is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction and on-time renewals working proactively with existing customers. The account manager works directly with Innovative sales teams, library relationship managers, and customer support to resolve issues and communicate upsell opportunities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently achieves high customer retention renewal rates that maximize protecting and enhancing the customer relationships.

  • Executes all phases of the retention/renewal lifecycle including communication, negotiation, revisions to terms and conditions, obtaining contract signatures, and filing appropriate paperwork.

  • Refers upsell/cross-sell opportunities to Account Directors as appropriate.

  • Builds weekly forecasts and provides complete visibility to renewals.

  • Accurately maintains a rolling six-month forecast of renewals and a dashboard of customer status.

  • Works with customers to understand their unique goals and business processes, uncover roadblocks, and deliver strong account management capabilities.

  • Collaborates with internal resources by providing important customer feedback, process-improvement suggestions, and new troubleshooting tips to ensure best practices.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required

Education, Licenses, and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated success in account management capacity with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Minimum 5 years of library industry experience.

Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle and procurement processes.

  • Excellent and presentation skills to effectively explain a solution to a customer's problems.

  • Detailed, organized, and results oriented.

  • Be a self-starter and possess a “can-do” attitude.

  • Demonstrated high level of work ethic and a positive attitude.

  • Analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting expertise.

  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively under pressure.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and roles within the customer organization.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and escalate customer issues as required.

  • Ability to learn and assimilate technical information quickly.

Preferred

  • NetSuite or comparable CRM experience a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS OR INFORMATION

  • Occasional travel (up to 3 times per year) to a user conference, customer site, or corporate office may be required, although generally this is considered to be a non-traveling position.
