Job Description

JOB TITLE: Security Officer - Unarmed Security Officer - Security Guard - Seasonal

JOB SUMMARY: Support all areas in their security needs and be an integral part of the facility needs. Establish working relationships with clients and local police and fire departments. Demonstrate and abide by Andy Frain Services Core Values and the operating principles set forth, while maintaining 100% compliance with all staff training. Observe and reports activities and incidents providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. Port Security Officers must possess and maintain a professional image and must demonstrate strong leadership skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Essential functions may vary depending on department size, organizational structure and/or geographic location. •The delivery of quality service and positive interaction with our customers is critical to the completion of all the tasks within this job description. The ability to greet all visitors, vendors, and employees; while continuously maintaining the standards of excellence in presentation and professionalism.

•Guard and patrol physical property; monitor system response; orient and monitor personnel working in high risk areas; and investigation of accidents and criminal acts. Conduct vehicle and foot patrols of exterior and/or interior of facility as outlined in post orders, checking for any safety violations / unsafe behaviors and reporting them to the appropriate personnel.

• Inspect Customer premises (fences, walls, gates, alarms, etc.) and report repair and malfunction.

•Check in and out Visitors and Vendors. (where applicable).

•Enforce the Customers access control procedures including but not limited to; verifying the identity of all individuals entering and exiting the grounds, and when necessary further examining people, good and vehicles.

•Process report for the Security Supervisor and/or Security Manager, identifying areas of concern in weekly and daily reports.

•Maintain a working knowledge of all emergency policies, procedures and regulations; respond immediately to emergency alarms or calls for help, determine course of action, notify appropriate authorities and assist as needed.

•Develop and recommend new procedures and approaches to safety and loss prevention based on reports of incidents, accidents, and other relevant information.

•Read and understand the Post Orders and current memos, revisions, and daily event needs, (i.e. parking list, and access changes).

•Monitor security surveillance equipment where applicable.

•Implement security/safety improvements that benefit the company’s assets, visitors, tenants, and employees as directed.

•Equipment operation will include use of portable radios, telephones, copy and fax machines, computers and tools. This may include making daily inspection of all tools and vehicles assigned to job site and noting any damages so that repairs can be handled immediately thus maximizing use of the units at all times.

•Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

•Have in possession at all times your TWIC license card.

•These functions are not limited to these listed and may be expanded upon at any time, however it will be mutually agreed upon.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. Please note that the minimum qualifications may vary based upon the department size and/or geographic location.

• This position requires the applicant possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

· High School Diploma and/or equivalent

· Must pass Fit for Duty requirement .

· Must be 19 years of age of older.

· State Security Guard license is required.

· CPR and First Aid Certification a plus.

· Must have dependable transportation to and from the work site.

· Free of any judgment of incompetence by any court.

· Phone for contact.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job.

Must be able to see, hear, speak and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or other customers. Pushing/pulling/carrying lifting may include up to 50 lbs, stair climbing. Normal vision or corrected by use of glasses and/or contacts for normal reading and viewing abilities.
