The Finance Department is responsible for the internal and external financial reporting for the Harry Fox Agency, Inc. (HFA) and its parent company the National Music Publishers Association, Inc. (NMPA) It is also responsible for the processing of Accounts Payable and bi-weekly Payroll, filing of all Corporate Taxes, compliance with Federal, State and local agencies, and abandoned property filings. In addition, the Department provides financial analyses and advice as required by the organization, and manages the annual corporate and benefits audits. We offer internships in the Spring, Summer and Fall. The Spring and Fall internships are part-time positions (12-15 hrs/week), unpaid, school credit only. Spring term begins in January and end in May. Fall begins in September and ends in December. The summer internship is a full-time paid internship, which runs from June through August. Cuts off dates for applications are: December 15 for Spring, May 15 for summer, August 15 for fall. Responsibilities

• Prepare bank reconciliations • Assist with the maintenance of financial supporting schedules by participating in the preparation of monthly income and expense analyses • Input monthly journal data entries in JD Edwards • Assist with check status research utilizing JPMorgan access to identify status of payments • Perform necessary research for the abandoned property and outstanding checks and assist with due diligence activities • Provide assistance to Sr. Director and Account Analysts with monthly reconciliation of taxes withheld and remitted to the IRS • Assist the Accounting Manager and Accounting Analysts with the maintenance of existing and new deal income information • Assist with special project (Expense Reporting) • Become familiar with Accounts Payable process by assisting the Accounts Payable Supervisor with the following: invoice coding, general ledger codes, and status of invoice/statement amounts

Requirements

• Undergraduate or graduate student with a music/music business, finance, economics, accounting • Familiarity/strong interest in digital music technology preferred • Well organized, detail-oriented, hardworking, enthusiastic and positive attitude • Strong analytical and research skills • Excellent oral and written communications skills • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software - including PowerPoint • Some experience in Accounting/Finance desirable • Strong Excel skills mandatory • Experience with an accounting application, such as JDE, a plus
