COMPANY INFO HFA is the nation’s leading provider of intellectual property management, licensing and royalty calculation and distribution services for the music industry. With over 46,000 music publishing clients, HFA issues the largest number of licenses for the use of music in both physical and digital distribution formats. HFA makes licensing fast and easy with Songfile®, its online application. The company also offers a variety of outsourced technology solutions designed to facilitate the administration of intellectual property rights. As a technology innovator, HFA is leading the industry in establishing global data standards and is a founding member and Board member of the Digital Data Exchange (DDEX). In business for more than 80 years, HFA is the music industry’s most comprehensive resource for rights management. Licensing / Data Management Departments The Licensing Department processes and verifies licensing requests for the reproduction of musical compositions on behalf of our publisher principals. Our goal is to obtain complete and accurate information from licensees to assure efficient handling of all requests in a timely manner which results in royalty collections on behalf of our publisher clients. The primary purpose of the Data Management Department is to rationalize and integrate the process and strategy of managing musical composition, sound recordings, licensing and royalty data. The integration of this data into a singular and broader rights management and business intelligence platform is vital to HFA’s ability to drive commerce. We offer internships in the Spring, Summer and Fall. The Spring and Fall internships are part-time positions (12-15 hrs/week), unpaid, school credit only. Spring term begins in January and end in May. Fall begins in September and ends in December. The summer internship is a full-time paid internship, which runs from June through August. Cuts off dates for applications are: December 15 for Spring, May 15 for summer, August 15 for fall.
