Responsibilities

The internship would entail mostly work in our offices, but also work on the riverboat during events. The great thing about it is that there are no set requirements on what there is to do, so you will experience different aspects. The main part will include you working on an internship project, which will include planning, promoting, and instituting a simple ongoing event for the Pride. -Other duties may include (but not limited to) some general office duties such as answering phones -Checking and responding to voice mail messages -Informing the public about all aspects of the Pride (facts, dates, cruise prices, etc) -Working with clients over the phone to take orders, reservations, memberships, gift certificates, etc -Complete mass mailings and solicitation letters -Design basic media -Help distributing brochures and other media to hotels, local businesses, visitors bureaus, etc -Maintain a working knowledge of dynamics on the boat including members of the crew, upcoming events aboard and special situations requiring attention -Assist captains, crew, bartenders, and other staff on the boat during various cruises and events as needed -Other duties and responsibilities as they come up. -You may also be asked to help with the Susquehanna River School, if you are at all interested in history, ecology or the environment.
