DescriptionASA seeks an experienced Content Production Specialist to help create the next generation of digital financial education for college age students and young adults. Our plan is to change the way financial education is delivered; making it fun, relevant, and game changing. Our job is to drive awareness of the importance of managing student debt, all while teaching life skills in money management.
The Content Production Specialist will be responsible for the production and launch of individual content assets within the SALT digital product ecosystem. Working with the Director of Product Development, the Senior Manager, Product Development, the Content Manager, and numerous internal and external stakeholders, the Content Production Specialist will execute the operating process for the development of evergreen digital content, newsworthy content, financial education curriculum, and content marketing assets.
ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (e.g., in order to be considered to perform this position, the person must be able to perform essential duties and responsibilities listed below):
Project management of content assets through various stages of development. Manage project schedules, create and provide status reports, raise and address content production issues with the content team.
Work with internal and external content contributors, providing content templates and style guidelines for their submissions.
Collaborate closely with technology teams to execute process for content asset development and upload within the website content management system (“CMS”).
Recommend adjustments and improvements to the content development process.
Primary responsibility for entry of new content into CMS, editing and publishing changes to existing content in CMS, and initial and ongoing training of CMS end user content creators and editors.
Ensuring that content is launched with appropriate metadata tags, including taxonomy values and standards alignments.
Ensuring that copy meets the ASA web standards.
Collaborate with Product Management to ensure that content posting on the site is accessible for users with disabilities.
Collaborates with the Content Manager on an annual editorial calendar with an eye toward content development feasibility.
Collaborates with Content Manager to develop plans for sitewide content merchandising. Utilizes CMS and other workflow tools to highlight and place content within website.
Act as the primary content producer, responsible for creating content according to the editorial calendar by utilizing 3rd party content vendors, technology solutions, and subject matter experts for the delivery of content assets.
Training in specific applications for editorial workflow and content management.
Participate in website or social media design discussions and development – bring forth content asset expertise and assessment of content feasibility into the planning and discussion.
Participate in usability testing, both of the website and the individual content assets for purposes of optimizing and planning for future development.
Travel and attendance at relevant conferences, meetings, and training seminars may be recommended.
Coordinates the day-today activities of content development and production.
Ensures timely content development and deployment, while maintaining high quality standards.
Ensures on-going training of content throughput as necessary.
Recognizes and celebrates team contributions and successes.
RequirementsEducation and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
3-5 years’ experience managing the production of digital content.
Prior experience managing a content workflow/throughput process working with commercially available CMS.
Experience procuring and managing 3rd party content providers, specifically video production, authors, and faculty or experts.
Ability to partner effectively with outside agencies on user flow, look & feel, and mobile enablement.
Demonstrated success launching content in multiple formats on time, on budget, and on scope.
Experience with content marketing - using content assets on external websites/syndication and within the social media ecosystem to drive engagement.
Experience with multi-lingual content is a plus, but not required.
Must be extremely organized, detail oriented, work well under pressure and be able to organize different teams of people.
Able to self-motivate and work independently.
Able to think strategically, formulate and execute plans to meet goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to think openly and creatively.
Ability to motivate interdisciplinary teams as well as skill in balancing the needs of various stakeholders, within budget and time constraints.
