ResponsibilitiesBenefits/Responsibilities of Independent Contractors
Independent contractors at BDWC are provided with a number of benefits. Therapists are able to meet with their clients in office space or group room space, depending on the service that they are providing. The front office personnel check clients in for their service, complete necessary paperwork, and alert the contractor that their client has arrived. Therapists are also provided with voice mail, billing and answering service after hours. Supervision may also be provided to the contract therapist, providing availability of on-site supervisor. Contract therapists also have the clinical expertise of other agency staff to utilize as needed.
Contract therapists are responsible for filling out their schedule with the front office staff in a timely manner. They are also responsible for being present when their client/group are scheduled. If the contractor cannot attend their scheduled session or group, they are responsible for alerting the front office and the clients. They are also responsible for filling out necessary paperwork for clients that are assigned to them and attending treatment meetings. The independent contractor is also required to fill out necessary billing forms to request reimbursement for their services from the agency and to check their billing forms for accuracy when requested.
Reimbursement for Services
Independent Contractors with BDWC will be compensated for their services on the Friday of the following week of their service delivery, providing payment for such services has been received by the agency. Independent contractors are informed of the compensation rate prior to providing such service.
Other specialized Independent Contractors will be reimbursed according to the negotiated rate. A specialized contract may be devised with contractors that will perform duties or work with BDWC on a time-limited, project specific basis. Payment for such services will be provided to the contractor on the Friday of the following week once the completion of the project and providing that BDWC has received payment (if applicable) for the project.
Termination of Independent Contractors
Independent Contractors of BDWC may be terminated at any time with or without cause. If termination is necessary and due to fault of the contractor, the appropriate licensure boards may be informed. This is to protect future clients of the contractor and allow for licensure boards to take appropriate action as needed. Independent contractors with BDWC may also terminate their contract at any time. It is expected, as with any individual in a professional capacity, appropriate notice will be given to allow for re-assignment of individual clients and/or group assignments. Independent contractors may also be terminated for failing to follow through with particular agency or licensure paperwork.
