DescriptionADHD & Autism Psychological Services and Advocacy is seeking bright and motivated psychology graduate students to complete our internship program. We specialize in providing comprehensive, state-of-the-science assessment, treatment, and educational services for children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders. We also provide general counseling services to children, adolescents and adults for disorders such as anxiety and depression.
AAPSA will be accepting internship applications for psychology students interested in enhancing their knowledge and understanding of individuals with ADHD and autism, as well as advancing their skills in assessment and testing. Our internship program offers students a variety of experiences, which are tailored to the interests of individual students. Internship experiences focus on three main areas of responsibility:
Therapy—Interns will have the opportunity to engage in individual, family, and group therapy. They are responsible for scheduling and maintaining client appointments, developing treatment plans and progress notes, and maintaining any paperwork related to their clients.
Testing—Interns will have the opportunity to administer, score, and interpret numerous psychological tests, as well as write psychological reports. Interns will have access to a large variety of tests including those to assess intellectual functioning, achievement, memory, and executive functioning (e.g., WAIS-IV, WIAT-III, WMS-IV, DKEFS, ADOS, TOVA.).
Supervision—Interns will receive individual and group supervision throughout their internship experience. Both individual and group supervision will be conducted with a licensed clinical psychologist.
These are just some of the experiences offered to our psychology graduate student interns. We hope this will provide you with a better understanding of our agency and what we strive for. Please feel free to visit our website www.AAPSA.net. If you have any additional questions regarding our services and internship program, do not hesitate to contact us at 315-732-3431.
