DescriptionThe Women's Center of RI is seeking dedicated interns this summer to help us in our agency's mission to end interpersonal violence! 4-16 hrs/week internships available!
Interns will be responsible for helping on our crisis hotline, where they provide support, collect information, and give referrals to those who call.
Interns can also do supplemental work in areas such as community education, our Children's Enrichment Program, administrative help, and others!
As a small non-profit, interns play a vital role in our ability to do the work that we do. Interns can expect to learn about active listening skills, crisis management, non-profit resources and referrals, domestic violence dynamics and prevention strategies, and much more!
Application is rolling.
RequirementsApplicants must be able to attend our 9 hour training, at least 3 shadow shifts, and at least 1 regular weekly 4 hour shift in order to be a good fit for the program.
We are able to host interns from 4-16 hours per week, and expect that interns can commit to at least 2 months of service with us.
