Interns are students in the MFT program who have not yet graduated and need a site placement. MFT Interns are individuals who are in the process of completing their graduate coursework and are looking to intern in order to gain hours for licensure requirements. Interns must see clients on an individual, couple, family or group basis, in home and or/in office for BBSE hours; attend in-services and supervision; and accompaniment shifts. .

Primary Responsibilities include: Provide individual and family therapy to participants on caseload · Co-facilitate family and group therapy · Observe how people interact within units · Evaluate and resolve relationship problems · Guide clients through transitional crises such as divorce or death · Provide psycho-educational services to older adults · Highlight problematic relational or behavioral patterns · Take a holistic (mind-body) approach to wellness · Participate in staff meetings and other staff functions · Perform documentation of all services requires · Other duties as assigned


Applicants must have earned a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in psychology, counseling or behavioral health science. Must be enrolled in a practicum course through an accredited Master’s Degree program from Marriage and Family Therapy or Social Work. Strong desire to work with seniors and their families. Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team. Open to working with challenging and complex presenting problems. Experience in the field preferred. Microsoft Office proficient; required. Strong written and verbal skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. CA Driver’s License; required.
