DescriptionThe Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim is open seven days per week and offers a broad range of programs and services for children ages 5-18. The Club offers national programs in five core areas, as well as, special interest programs and outreach to children in need. Most importantly, the Club offers a "safe haven" for kids, off of the streets, where they can interact with peers and positive mentors.
Approximately 94% of the Club's children receive "membership scholarships" to participate in programs and services. Our policy is such that no child will ever be turned away from the Club because their family is unable to pay the annual fee. Therefore, the Club relies heavily on the generosity of its community partners, local businesses, grantors, and individual donors to sustain Club operations needed to continue to help children in the community.
The Club is a 25 year old organization with roots, deep in the city of Anahiem. In order to remain as effective as possible and address the most pressing needs of our Club Members, we are actively seeking out a wide variety of interns to assist us as we improve our Members life on a day to day basis. We are seeking out Psychology & Sociology interns to assist us as we move forward in a direction that focuses on mental health. We are looking for Child Development interns to assist us in designing and implementing programs that are focused on impacting our members in ways that align with our members age and styles of learning.
Our Club site is open for children from 1pm through 6pm, Monday through Friday and our offices are open on the same days an we are there at 9 am. Our organization has had wonderful experiences and we are truly better for our use of interns in the past. We are hoping to find several qualified and dedicated interns who are willing to use their knowledge and expertise to better the lives of disadvantaged kids in the Anaheim area. While we are currently seeking out interns for an unpaid internships, please note that there is availability for employment if it were to be a mutually beneficial situation.
The staff here at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim is a dedicated and passionate group of people who have been brought together for their mutual desire to assist a fantastic group of children. We promote a fun and creative environment for staff, interns, and our Club Members. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any of your internship needs, as we would be happy to discuss them with you. We hope to hear from you soon!
