DescriptionWe're a new company focused on helping other businesses and service providers reach the over 80 million Americans age 55 -100. This should create jobs - and you will be the ideal person to fill some of these positions!
Today 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 and will continue to do so for the next 17 years! The odds are you will live to 100! While most young people think that “seniors” are "old and decrepit", the fact is that as people live longer, stay healthier and have more disposable income than ever before - they are vibrant and robust through their 60s, 70s and beyond. Two women are 115 years of age.
From a psychosocial development approach, Erikson, Sheehy & Levenson did some work about adults, but there is no framework that's generally accepted for the subgroups (cohorts) within this growing 55-100 year old population.
For this exciting project, interns will conduct research to identify what is known about the subgroup cohorts, and identify who are the research/scientific leaders conducting research, sponsoring conferences, etc. on longevity, aging, etc., and input the data so we can reach out to them. Indeed, one goal is to give them access to this population for additional research studies!
This is an ideal project for a psychology student who also has entrepreneurial ambitions. With a new framework, we intend to help businesses and service providers reach their targeted cohorts. This should create jobs - and you will be the ideal person to fill these positions!
I teach at CUNY - Baruch's management department (strategy, negotiation, leadership), and at USST (Univ of Shanghai (marketing and entrepreneurship) so I would be glad to be your host supervisor and help you get credit from your school or department. I’m trained as a psychologist and attorney, I run businesses, worked on Capitol Hill, and now launching this research effort!
