Antelope Valley Community Clinic ("AVCC") is the first Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike located in and serving the Antelope Valley. The FQHC designation allows us to provide quality care at an affordable price.

Our mission is to enhance the well-being of the community by providing comprehensive, high-quality health care services including prevention and education with special emphasis on the medically underserved and low-income populations.

Our goal is to significantly expand access to primary care, disease management, prevention and educational services.

We are seeking a responsible, dedicated intern for our non-profit clinic.

Responsibilities

The individual will assist with the following:

-maintain/order diabetes pamphlets/materials
-Organize referrals (Diabetes and other chronic disease patients)
-Call patients
-Retinal screens
-Patient-Centered Medical Home Project
-Outreach events
-Other office tasks

**Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus**

Requirements

This is a great opportunity to learn about public health, medicine, chronic disease management, clinical operations, and patient population management. This is deal for high school seniors and college students seeking health-related experience. The hours are flexible, but the inidividual must be wiling to commit to at least 5 hours per week.
