DescriptionHealthy Eating Bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese Speaking Intern
The Health Trust Healthy Eating Initiative is recruiting for a Bilingual Spanish or Vietnamese speaking intern. The intern will work closely with the Healthy Eating Program Associate and support the initiative’s work in local food distribution and the wider Good. To Go. healthy food access campaign. The Good. To Go. campaign includes the Healthy Corner store Program, Silicon Valley Fresh Carts, and mobile farmer’s markets. The intern will support Healthy Eating in Good. To Go. promotional activities, collection of field data, and survey administration among San Jose target communities.

ResponsibilitiesParticipate in community events to promote Good. To Go. outlets by distributing fliers, coupons to community residents, and assisting with corner store launches
Promote the Good. To Go. app among community residents
Administer data collection surveys among community residents on an as needed basis to inform local food distribution models
Conduct quarterly price checks of healthy Good. To Go. approved items at corner stores September 2016, December 2015, March 2015, etc.)
Requirements2 years college experience
1-5 hours/ week time commitment - Including some weekends
Interest in healthy food access and obesity prevention
Experience in community-based work among low income populations
Bilingual in either Vietnamese or Spanish
