DescriptionAmerican Correctional Association (ACA)'s Office of Correctional Health Care serves ACA members and affiliated state Health Authority by supporting health services programs in correctional facilities across the nation. The department is responsible for providing health care resources and support needed for ACA members and Affiliates for the effective delivery of health services at correctional institutions.
The Office of Correctional Health Care internship position offers students an excellent opportunity to learn about public health and corrections.
The intern will assist with the development of materials including newsletters, regional updates and association journals. Draft, edit and review correctional health information products (proposals, fact sheets, marketing materials, and presentations). Conduct research and collect health services data for correctional population. Other duties as needed
RequirementsQualified applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s or a graduate degree in public health, health policy, health administration, nursing, or a related discipline
• Possess strong verbal, written, communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization
• Exhibits strong computer skills, and knowledge of Microsoft Word applications.
